Women's Basketball Falls Twice in Heartbreaking Fashion at AHC Crossover

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team suffered a pair of heartbreaking losses at the annual AHC Crossover on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs opened the event against Taft College on day one, where they saw a 17-point lead evaporate during the final frame after the Coguars rattled off 30 points in the fourth. The home squad eventually fell in the 85-84 loss after Taft made two free throws with 0.4 seconds remaining on the clock to secure the win in regulation. Khaelii Robertson-Mack led the way with a 21-point, 13-rebound double-double. Giselle Calderon and India Dowling-Green rounded out the top scorers for Coach Smith's crew with 18 points and 14 points, respectively. | BOX SCORE

Hancock's second loss of the weekend came in an overtime thriller with Chaffey College on Saturday afternoon. The back-and-forth battle featured 12 ties and six lead changes en route to the 90-85 loss in the extra period. The Panthers caught a break with 1:14 remaining on the clock after a common foul and a technical foul gave them four shots at the charity stripe and the ensuing possession. Chaffey used the opportunity to build a lead that they could ride through to the end after making two of the four tries and a three-pointer after the in-bounds play. | BOX SCORE

Four members of the home squad finished day two in double figures, led by Dowling-Green's 21-point performance. Robertson-Mack followed with another double-double after notching 19 points and 13 rebounds. Calderon (16 points) and Mallory Branum (15 points) rounded out the top scorers.

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Monday, December 11th, at home against Gavilan College at 5 PM for another non-conference contest.
