Women's Basketball Thumps Gavilan, 71-28

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team secured a decisive 71-28 victory at home in a non-conference showing against Gavilan College on Monday evening. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (5-7) cruised to victory after building a 19 point lead in the opening quarter. The home squad finished the evening with a 40.6 percent showing from the field while limiting the Rams (0-11) to just a 5.6 percent performance from distance. Coach Smith's crew also managed to convert 25 Gavilan turnovers for 22 points on the opposite end of the floor and held a 50-34 advantage on the boards. 

Mallory Branum was tops for the Bulldogs after the program registered five double digit scorers. Branum tied a season-high mark of 15 points with a 6-for-11 mark from the floor and a perfect finish at the charity stripe. Khaelii Robertson-Mack followed with 13 points, while Giselle Calderon and Maggie Perez added 11 points apiece. India Dowling-Green rounded out the top performers with her third double-double of the season after notching 10 points and 12 rebounds. 

The Bulldogs are set to return to action next week with a pair of non-conference contests at the Glendale Crossover. They will face off against the hosting Vaqueros on December 21st before matching up with Cypress College on day two.
