Women's Basketball Overcomes Early Deficit to Top Cuesta, 65-55

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team remains undefeated in league play after a strong fourth quarter led them to a 65-55 victory over Cuesta College in a home Western State Conference (North) contest on Wednesday evening. | BOX SCORE

The Cougars (11-8, 0-3) built an early 16-3 lead in the opening five minutes of action before the home crew could find their footing and cut the deficit to seven by the intermission break. The two programs were nearly even in the third frame before Hancock (9-9, 2-0) put the game away in the final quarter by outscoring the visitors 18-2. 

Coach Smith's squad outrebounded Cuesta by nine and managed to convert 13 CC turnovers for 19 points on the opposite end. Khaelii Robertson-Mack led all scorers on the night with 23 points and snagged 11 rebounds en route to her 11th double-double of the season. Giselle Calderon followed with 19 points, while Mallory Branum came off the bench to add nine points and 12 rebounds. India Dowling-Green also registered a double figure finish in the rebounding category with 11.
