Bulldogs Top Santa Barbara in 71-63 Decision

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team overcame a second-quarter slump to defeat Santa Barbara City College in a 71-63 decision on Saturday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (11-10, 4-1) led by one at the conclusion of the opening frame but faced a hefty deficit at the intermission after being outscored 20-9 in the second frame. Coach Smith's squad overcame the slump in the second half by outscoring the Vaqueros (8-13, 2-3), 44-24, over the final two quarters. 

Khaelii Robertson-Mack tied a career-high and led all scorers on the night with 27 points after making eight shots from the floor and going 11-for-15 at the charity stripe. Mallory Branum followed with a season-high mark of 21 points and led the team with three assists. She and Robertson-Mack also led the way for the team with eight rebounds apiece. Giselle Calderon rounded out the top scorers with 10 points. 

The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action with a home contest versus Ventura College on Wednesday, January 31st, at 7 PM during the inaugural Hometown Heroes Night.
