Women's Basketball: Four Named to WSC (North) All-Conference List, Smith Tabbed as Coach of the Year

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Four members of the Allan Hancock College women's basketball team have been named as postseason honorees for the North Division of the Western State Conference. | FULL LIST

Mallory Branum, India Dowling-Green, and Khaelii Robertson-Mack headlined the group with First Team All-Conference honors, while Giselle Calderon rounded out the AHC names with an All-Conference Honorable Mention nod. Head coach Danah Smith was recognized by her peers as the WSC North Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to a second place finish in her first year at the helm of the program.

Branum leads the team with 43 made three-pointers and averages 10.6 points per game. The Lompoc native hit a season-high of six shots from distance at home against LA Pierce earlier this month and ranks second on the team with 6.3 assists per game. 

Dowling-Green, a sophomore from South Carolina, ranks second on the team with 12.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest. She leads the program with 107 made free throws on 182 attempts and has tallied 11 double-doubles. Dowling-Green hit a career-high of 30 points in the season opener, which remains as the highest-scoring finish for any teammate on the season. 

Robertson-Mack, a freshman forward, leads the Bulldogs with 16.5 points and 10.7 points per game after starting in 24 of her 28 appearances. She has totaled 18 double-doubles thus far and has scored 20+ points in 10 games.

Calderon, a sophomore guard, leads the AHC crew with a 34.5 percentage average from the three-point line after sinking 40 of her 116 tries. She averages 11.5 points per game and is tops for the squad with 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game. 

The No. 18-seeded Bulldogs will travel to face No. 15 Antelope Valley College in Lancaster on Wednesday, February 28th, at 5 PM for round one of the 2024 Southern California Regional Tournament.
