The visiting Raiders (22-4, 10-0 WSC) set the tone early, racing out to a 27-14 lead in the first quarter behind a strong offensive start. Coach Smith's squad found some momentum in the second quarter and cut the deficit to eight at the intermission after outscoring MC, 16-11, in the frame. Both teams resumed action after the break with a slow showing in the third, but Moorpark got hot in the final quarter with a 60 percent showing from the field to close out the contest.
Defensively, the Bulldogs (10-16, 5-5 WSC) nearly saw the Raiders commit a season-high number of turnovers after forcing 23 on the night while collecting 18 steals. AHC also found success on the glass, pulling down 40 rebounds, including 12 on the offensive end to create second-chance opportunities. Moorpark, however, was able to capitalize on transition play with 28 fast-break points to control the tempo.
Khaelii Robertson-Mack was a standout for Hancock, leading the team with 14 points, six steals, and four assists. Bree Luna added 13 points and seven rebounds, while Katy Mathews contributed 12 points and nine boards.
The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Saturday, February 15th, on the road at Santa Barbara City College.
