Women's Golf Takes Fourth at WSC #7

SANTA MARIA, Calif - The Allan Hancock College women's golf program secured a fourth place finish at the seventh Western State Conference (WSC) event of the season after hosting at the Santa Maria Country Club on Monday. 

Moorpark College won the event with a final tally of 319, followed by Santa Barbara City College (351) and College of the Canyons (369) in the top three spots. Antelope Valley College finished in fifth behind the Bulldogs with a total of 481 stroke while Bakersfield College and Citrus College did not have enough competitors to pull together a team score. 

Kariss Whitford led the way for Hancock as the lone top-15 finisher by carding 89 on the day en route to a tie for 9th. Phoebe Becerra and Kristina Whitmore followed - both placing 16th - while Vanessa Ramos rounded out the top performers for the home squad in the No. 18 slot. 

The Bulldogs will finish the regular season at the two-day WSC Championship, hosted at the Marshall Canyon Golf Course in La Verne, beginning on October 27.
