Whitford Earns All-Conference Honors as Women's Golf Takes Fourth at the WSC Championship

LA VERNE, Calif. - Allan Hancock College sophomore, Kariss Whitford was recognized as an All-Conference selection as the program wrapped up the regular season schedule at the two-day Western State Conference (WSC) Championship event at Marshall Canyon Golf Course.

Whitford landed in ninth place on the individual standings list with a final tally of 183 across the two-day showing. The Santa Maria native averaged 87.33 strokes per round after competing in nine conference events throughout the fall campaign. Her performance helped lead the Bulldogs to an overall finish of fourth place as a team with a total score of 826.

Two other members of the Hancock squad landed in the top-20 with Vanessa Ramos coming in at No. 15 after carding 197 (99/98) and Phoebe Becerra placing No. 19 (217). Kristina Whitmore (232) and Sofia Regalado (236) rounded out the competitors for AHC by placing at 22nd and 24th, respectively.

Whitford has qualified as an individual for the 3C2A Southern California Regional Championships and will represent the program on Nov. 10-11 at the Los Serranos Country Club north course.
