Women's Soccer Loses to Taft College 2-0 in Home Opener

The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team fell to Taft College on Sep. 6, in a 2-0 loss in their first home game of the season. The Bulldogs fall to 0-2-2 for the season. 

Cougars forward Justice Rodriguez opened the scoring early with a fourth minute unassisted goal. Rodriguez finished the game with 4 shots on goal and created most of the chances for Taft. The Cougars would go on to score one more time in the 70th minute to improve to 2-1-1 on the season. 

Forward Elizabeth Aldana created most of the Bulldog's chances with 6 shots. The Bulldogs had several good looks on goal, but could not convert. 

Bulldog goalkeeper Brooke Stewart was under pressure and came up with five saves in the game. Stewart's presence in net kept Hancock's chances of a comeback alive. 

The Cougars outshot the Bulldogs 13-10 and created more chances on goal 7-4. 

The Bulldog's next game is on the road at 7 PM on Tuesday, Sep. 10th when they take on Cabrillo College.
