Elizabeth Aldana Leads Bulldogs Over Glendale 6-0

The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team posted their third shutout in a row after a 6-0 performance against Glendale College on Friday, September 27. The women's team now sits in the top three in the CCCAA power points standings and has a chance to break the top 20 teams in state rankings following the win. The team now sits at 4-2-3 on the season as Glendale falls to 4-4-0.

Bulldogs forward Elizabeth Aldana opened up the scoring in the tenth minute off a long feed from defender Isabella Albano. Five minutes later Hunter Soliz scored her first goal of the season unassisted to put the Bulldog's up 2-0. Midfielder Lissette Calderon scored the final goal of the half thanks to an assist from Aldana to bring Hancock into the half at 3-0. Hancock outshot Glendale 15-2 and had more chances on goal 10-1.

Forward Emily Moran and midfielder Brianna Gaona both scored their first goals of the season off assists from Aldana and Kassandra Bright to go up 5-0. Aldana scored the final goal of the game in the 86th minute off the assist from Jennifer Perez.

The Bulldogs dominated on the offensive side of the ball for most of the game. The team ended the game outshooting Glendale 33-4 and tallied more chances 22-2. Glendale's few offensive chances were quickly stopped by Hancock's defense. The Bulldogs showcased their offensive capabilities by posting their highest-scoring and shooting marks of the season.

Brooke Stewart continued her dominance in net saving both shots she faced during the game. Stewart has not been scored on since the 1-1 tie against Pasadena on September 13th.

Hancock will be at home on Tuesday, October 1 when they take on Reedley College at 2 PM. Reedley currently sits at 5-2-0.
