
Conner Schmidt Named as Assistant Coach for Bulldogs Soccer
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College head soccer coach, Billy Vinnedge, has announced another addition to the Bulldogs coaching staff for the upcoming season. Conner Schmidt, a Cabrillo High School alum, will serve as an assistant coach for the program in the upcoming season. While Schmidt will serve as an assistant for both the men's and women's programs, he will the majority of his time focusing on player training and development for the men's team.
"We are so excited to have Conner returning to Hancock this season as a member of our coaching staff," shared Coach Vinnedge. "His experience and knowledge of the game, both as a coach and as a player, will be extremely beneficial for our program."
Schmidt graduated from Waldorf (Iowa) University with a degree in Sports Management in 2017 before returning to the Central Coast. He spent three seasons with the Warriors as a defender, appearing in 25 games while totaling seven points and placing 11 shots on target. Before venturing to Iowa, Schmidt spent one season with Hancock in 2012. He also served stints at the semi-professional level as a member of the Electric City Shock (2017-18) and Alta Cal Sol (2021) clubs.
Prior to joining the Bulldogs coaching ranks, Schmidt served as an assistant coach for the Lompoc High School girl's soccer team and Cabrillo High School boy's soccer team. He was also involved in a number of youth camps and club programs while in Iowa.
