Women's Soccer Tabbed at No. 12 in Inaugural CCCSIA Poll
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer program broke through the rankings in the first edition of the inaugural CCCSIA Women's Soccer Top 20 Poll. Voting for the poll closed on Tuesday, prior to Hancock's victory over LA Pierce, and was announced by the state office on Thursday. Sports information and athletic communications professionals from around the state served as the poll's voting members.
The Bulldogs landed at No. 12 after tallying 72 points in the poll, marking the first state ranking on record for the program. Cypress College, last season's runner-up at the state championship, was placed atop the field despite receiving zero first place votes. Mt. San Antonio College was tabbed at the No. 2 slot after starting the season with a 9-1 record and outscoring opponents, 25-3. Chaffey College, a member of the Inland Empire Athletic Conference, rounded out the top three selections.
Hancock was joined in the rankings by two other members of the Western State Conference in the poll: No. 8 LA Pierce and No. 20 Santa Barbara City.
The Bulldogs are set to return to action on October 4th with a road trip to face off against Santa Barbara.
