Bulldogs Surrender First Loss of Season at SBCC

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team fell in a 2-1 decision against Western State Conference foe, Santa Barbara City College, on Tuesday evening. | BOX SCORE

The Vaqueros (6-1-4, 4-0 WSC) registered two quick goals in the opening half after scoring in the 13th and 20th minutes. Estrella Guzman cut the deficit with her fifth goal of the season after connecting on a pass from Cynthia Ramirez in the 51st minute, but the Bulldogs (8-1-3, 3-1 WSC) were unable to close the gap before time expired.

Shot opportunities for both sides were limited as the two teams combined for just 12 attempts on the night. Guzman, Ramirez, Kaihla Lopez, and Emely Graciliano Sanchez each registered one try on target while Hancock's strong defensive line held the Vaqueros to three shots on frame. Santa Barbara owned the edge of the field with a 4-0 advantage on corner kick opportunities.

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Friday, October 7th, at home for another WSC showdown. They will host Moorpark College at 4 PM on the AHC Soccer Field.
