Women's Soccer Climbs to No. 9 in Latest Poll
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team broke through the Top 10 in the second edition of CCCSIA Women's Soccer Top 25 Poll. Voting for the poll closed on Tuesday, prior to Hancock's loss to Santa Barbara, and was announced by the state office on Thursday. Sports information and athletic communications professionals from around the state served as the poll's voting members.
The Bulldogs jumped three spots and tied for the No. 9 after tallying 115 points in the poll. Chaffey College vaulted Mt. SAC to take the top spot after the Panthers received three of the 10 first-place votes cast, earning 187 points in the voting. Mt. SAC had six first-place votes, but only 179 points to remain in the second spot. San Joaquin Delta landed in the No. 3 spot with 165 points, having received the other first-place vote.
Chaffey is one of three teams in the state still boasting an undefeated record thus far. The other two undefeated teams, Reedley (147 points) and Folsom Lake (132 points), hold down the No. 6 and No. 8 spots respectively. In between is former No. 1, Cypress, which holds a two-point advantage in the voting over Folsom Lake.
Hancock is joined in the rankings by two other members of the Western State Conference in the poll: No. 9 LA Pierce and No. 20 Santa Barbara City.
