Bulldogs Bounce Back with Win over Moorpark

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team bounced back with a 2-1 win over Moorpark College in a Western State Conference showdown on Friday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

Hayde Gallardo put the Bulldogs (9-1-3, 4-1 WSC) on the board by scoring the lone goal of the opening half with a header to the top left of the net following a corner kick from Cynthia Ramirez. Moorpark (4-5-5, 3-2 WSC) evened the playing field in the 57th minute with a 30-yard chip from the middle of the pitch over Hancock's keeper. Ramirez registered the game-winning goal in the 63rd minute after beating the defender and keeper for an open goal opportunity en route to her 22nd tally of the season.

Hancock outshot the Raiders at a hefty 11-3 margin, led by six total attempts and three on frame from Ramirez. Estrella Guzman and Gallardo added to the effort with one try on target apiece. Maya Mendek snagged one save through 45 minutes in the box after a solid defensive line comprised of Leslie Ramirez, Jessica Gil, Ana Delgado, and Hope Smith limited scoring opportunities for the opponents.

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Friday, October 14th, with a road trip to Oxnard College for another league contest.
