Women's Soccer Ends Historic Season in Second Round of SoCal Regionals

WALNUT, Calif. - The historic season for Allan Hancock College women's soccer has come to a close after a loss to No. 4-seeded Mt. San Antonio College in the second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs on Saturday evening. | BOX SCORE

Both teams were scoreless through the opening half, but the Mounties (19-1-1) found their way onto the board with an unassisted goal in the 54th minute. Mt. SAC doubled the deficit with a successful penalty kick in the 88th minute before registering the final goal of the game just two ticks later. 

Kaihla Lopez was the lone member of the AHC squad to place a shot on frame. Cynthia Ramirez and Alina Terrones also recorded tries on the day but did not place any attempts on target. Maya Mendek collected three saves after serving 90 minutes in the box for Coach Vinnedge's squad. 

The Bulldogs wrap up the most successful season in program history with an overall record of 15-2-5 and a share of the Western State Conference title. Ten sophomore members of the Hancock squad will move on to the next chapter of life while 11 freshmen will be eligible to return for the 2023 campaign.
