Women's Soccer: Bulldogs Blank WHC Lemoore in Home Opener

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team got back on track after topping West Hills College Lemoore, 8-0, in the home opener on Tuesday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

Kaihla Lopez started the scoring frenzy early after registering her first of four goals in the first few minutes of action. Cynthia Ramirez, also a four-goal finisher, doubled the deficit for the Golden Eagles (0-1-0) shortly after. Lopez notched another goal in the 30th minute before Ramirez ended the first half with two more tallies. Both Bulldogs (1-1-0) netted shots in the second half with a goal by Ramirez in the 57th, followed by tallies from Lopez in the 79th and 80th minutes. 

Hancock dominated offensively after outshooting Lemoore at a 21-2 margin and owned the edge of the field with a 6-1 advantage on corner kicks. Zorah Coulibaly and Leslie Ramirez registered two assists apiece while Maya Mendek earned the win the goal after nabbing two saves through 90 minutes. 

The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action on Friday, September 1st, against College of the Sequoias at 2 PM on the AHC Soccer Field.
