Women's Soccer: Bulldogs Collect Historic Win over SBCC

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team collected a historic victory over local rival, Santa Barbara City College, in a Western State Conference (North) showdown at home on Tuesday afternoon. The Bulldogs secured the program's first win (on record) over SBCC in shutout fashion. Prior to Tuesday's triumph, the Vaqueros held the series record (24-0-6) dating back to the 2002 season.  | BOX SCORE

Ximena Hinojosa put Hancock (8-3, 2-1) on the board with a bouncing goal in the 3rd minute of play. Cynthia Ramirez registered her first of three goals in the 20th minute after receiving a pass from Kaihla Lopez. Zorah Coulibaly connected with Ramirez for her second tally in the 31st minute before Ramirez finished off the hat trick with an unassisted goal in the 33rd.

Hancock outshot the Vaqueros (4-3-3, 0-1-1) at a 14-7 margin while placing five attempts on target. Sam Patchin secured the shutout in the box after collecting three saves through a complete 90 minutes of work. 

The Bulldogs will continue conference play on Friday, October 6th, on the road at Moorpark College.
