Women's Soccer Picks Up League Win in Oxnard Shutout

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team picked up another league win in the 4-0 shutout over Oxnard College at home on Friday afternoon, extending the current win streak number to four. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (10-3-0, 4-1-0 WSC) displayed a swarming defensive effort that limited the visiting squad to just one shot attempt while the offense placed 19 of 29 tries on target against the Condors (6-6-0, 1-5-0 WSC) keeper.

Leslie Ramirez led the way with a pair of goals in the first half of action, scoring in the 7th and 28th minutes. Kaihla Lopez added to the effort in the 59th before Isabella Galvan netted the final goal in the 69th. Zorah Coulibaly registered a game-high of three assists on the day. Her first helper came on the opening goal from Ramirez, while the other two came after shots off the crossbar and off the keeper in the second half. Ximenia Hinojosa also tacked on an assist after completing a pass to Ramirez for her second score. 

The win moves Hancock to the top of the league standings with one game remaining in the first round of conference play. They are one game ahead of both Moorpark and Santa Barbara, both boasting 3-1-1 marks, while Ventura and LA Pierce follow at 2-1-2.

The Bulldogs will close out round one on Tuesday, October 17th, with a road trip to Ventura College for a 6:30 PM contest. Tickets for the event can be purchased at https://ventura.vbotickets.com/events.
