Women's Soccer: Bulldogs Extend Win Streak to Five

VENTURA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team closed out the first round of Western State Conference action with a 2-1 win over Ventura College on Tuesday afternoon, extending the current win streak to five. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (11-3-0) are at the top of the standings through the first six games of league play with a 5-1 mark against WSC North foes. Santa Barbara is in second with a 4-1-1 record, followed by LA Pierce who holds a 3-1-2 mark. 

Zorah Coulibaly put the visiting squad on the board in the 21st minute after sending a pass from Cynthia Ramirez past the Pirates (7-4-4, 2-2-2) keeper for her 10th goal of the season. Ramirez followed with the eventual game-winner in the 57th minute, bringing her season goal total to 25. Ventura threatened a tie after netting a shot in the 62nd minute but fell short in the comeback attempt.

Sam Patchin picked up her sixth win of the season in the goal and collected one save through 90 minutes. 

Hancock will return to action on Friday, October 20th, at home against LA Pierce to open the second round of conference action. The game is scheduled to start at 1:30 PM on the AHC Soccer Field.
