Women's Soccer: Bulldogs Draw with Pierce, 2-2

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team avenged an early league loss after drawing with LA Pierce College, 2-2, at home on Friday afternoon. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (11-3-1, 5-3-1) fought through a chippy battle that saw a combined total of 29 fouls and five yellow cards, along with a red card that forced the home squad to play with 10 through the entire second half of action.

Hancock scored early on the day after a pass from Leslie Ramirez led Zorah Coulibaly to score in the seventh minute. Coulibaly doubled the deficit for the Brahmas (8-3-4, 3-1-3) less than 10 minutes later after using a pass from Kaihla Lopez to score. The visiting crew managed to score once before the intermission after converting a free kick.

A hard foul by Pierce in the early minutes of the second half led to an AHC penalty kick opportunity, which would have extended the lead back to two, but was saved by the Brahmas in the 47th tick. LAP managed to level the score in the 85th with a header into the upper-left corner of the goal after a corner kick opportunity.

Neither team proved to have a dominating position on the day as the Bulldogs were limited to just four shots on-target compared to Pierce's final tally of two. Pierce also owned the edge of the field at a 6-1 advantage.

Hancock remains at the top of the Western State Conference North standings after gaining one point in the draw while the Brahmas move to X. To view the current league standings, please click here.
