Women's Soccer: Cynthia Ramirez Headed to Cal State Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Allan Hancock College women's soccer standout, Cynthia Ramirez, has committed to continuing her academic and athletic career at Cal State Bakersfield next season.

"CSU Bakersfield fits me in all areas as a student and as an athlete. I love all of the goals that the program is striving for and I'm so thankful to be a part of that plan," Ramirez shared. "The vibe that I got on my visit from the people and the campus really reminded me of AHC, and finding the opportunity to still be close to family and friends while competing at the Division I level couldn't have been a more perfect fit."

Ramirez has etched her name into the record books after spending two seasons at Hancock. The 2023 Western State Conference (North) Offensive Player of the Year finished the season ranked second in total points (77) and third in goals (31) amongst all 3C2A women's soccer competitors. Throughout her time with the Bulldogs, the Arroyo Grande native registered 56 goals and 28 assists en route to 140 points. Last week, Ramirez added to her highly decorated resume by becoming the first player in program history (on record) to be named to the All-State Team. She was also First Team All-Conference and a Second Team USC Division III All-Region honoree as a freshman last season.

"My time at AHC taught me how to maintain a balance between school, work, soccer, family, and friends. I owe it to my coaches and teammates who helped prepare me, both mentally and physically, for any challenges that did come and always encouraged me to overcome them. Allan Hancock also gave me confidence in my size and abilities, with size being something that I had always struggled with when trying to move up to the next level," Ramirez added. "My time here allowed me to keep growing as a player and really let me play freely while finding my own style on the field, which helped strengthen my weaknesses. It also prepared me for readiness off of the field and helped me understand what it means to be representing your school."

The Roadrunners are a Division I member of the NCAA and compete in The Big West.
