Garcia competed in the distance freestyle events her freshman year for the Bulldogs. She played girls' water polo and was a member of the swim team for the Saints. Garcia joined the swim team at Hancock after she learned about the team from coach Mike Ashmore while helping him upgrade his cell phone. She plans to pursue a career as a civil engineer.
