Bramble Wins Two Events, Bulldogs Finish Fifth at WSC Meet #3

Sophomore Leanna Bramble won two events to highlight the Allan Hancock College women's swim team's performance during the third Western State Conference meet of the season on Saturday at Santa Barbara City College.

Bramble won the women's 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2;03.31, winning by nearly four seconds. She also won the 200 yard breaststroke by nearly six seconds with a time of 2:30.68.

Freshman Natalie Bondy finished third in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:01.68. The Bulldogs also came in second during the 4x100 freestyle relay with a time of 4:07.60. Bramble, Bondy, Bailey Nelson and Marissa Zubiate swam the relay for the Bulldogs.

Bondy also finished eighth in the 200 backstroke (2:43.83), while Nelson came in sixth in the 1,000 freestyle (12:35.77) and seventh in the 500 freestyle (6:08.42).

Overall, the Bulldogs finished fifth in the team standings with 237 points. The host Vaqueros won with 419.5 points, followed by Cuesta with 328.5, College of the Canyons with 303 and LA Pierce with 262.
