Salinas native, Max Pecile, headlined the day with three time-shattering records in individual events. His most impressive performance came with a 10-second improvement on the previous record of the 100-yard backstroke with a final time of 54.88, besting the previous record that was set by Mark Huicochea in 2020. Pecile collected three first place finishes at the season opening and a second place mark after leading off the 200-yard medley relay, which also set a new school record.

Asa Marsalek also set two new individual records, followed by Blake Simpson who set one. Marsalek and Simpson both improved on the previous 200-yard individual medley time of 2:11.47, which was set by Keyshaun Patel in 2020.

Lizzie Hernandez led the women's program with a top finish in the 100-yard backstroke after clocking a time of 1:08.07. She also earned a fourth place spot in the 200-yard individual medley after posting a final time of 2:28.46.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Friday, February 18th, at the first Western State Conference meet of the season. The event, which will be hosted by the College of the Canyons, is set to begin at 11 AM in Santa Clarita.
