Swimming Qualifies Five Individuals and Four Relays in Sixteen Events at CCCAA State Championship

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's and women's swimming teams have qualified to compete at the CCCAA State Championship in a total of sixteen events next weekend.

Max Pecile, Asa Marsalek, and Blake Simpson have qualified to represent the team in three individual events apiece. Pecile is set to compete in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke events, which he claimed WSC Champion titles in last weekend, and the 500-yard freestyle. Marsalek will race in the 400-yard individual medley, the 200-yard breaststroke, and the 200-yard butterfly. Simpson will compete in the 500-yard freestyle, the 1,650-yard freestyle, and the 400-yard individual medley. The men's program will also compete in four relay events on the big stage: 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard medley relay, 400-yard freestyle relay, and 800-yard freestyle relay. 

Lizzie Hernandez and Julia Zimsen will both represent the women's program in the 400-yard individual medley event. Hernandez will also compete as an individual in the 200-yard backstroke. 

The three-day event is scheduled to begin on May 5th on the East Los Angeles College campus in Monterey Park, Calif. Additional event information, links to live results, team scores, and more can be found here.
