Swim Qualifies Six Individuals and Four Relays in 21 Events for CCCAA State Championship

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's and women's swimming teams are set to wrap up the 2023 competition season at the CCCAA State Championship this weekend. 

The WSC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Year, Max Pecile, is scheduled to compete in the 200-yard individual medley, 400-yard individual medley, and the 200-yard backstroke while also swimming a leg in each qualifying relay. Jarred Torres, who will also swim in each relay, will compete as an individual in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, and the 1,650-yard freestyle. Asa Marsalek will appear in the 400-yard individual medley and the 1,650-yard freestyle while also swimming as part of the 800-yard freestyle relay. Ryan Lacaste has qualified for three individual events: 200-yard individual medley, 400-yard individual medley, and 200-yard butterfly. Jericho Orcino and Jacob Larson round out the men's performance list as members of the relay teams. Orcino will compete with the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay teams while Larson will appear as a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay. 

Emma Marsalek and Jada Brown will represent the women's program in three events. Marsalek, who picked up a pair of WSC titles at the conference championship meet last month, is scheduled to compete in the 500-yard freestyle, 400-yard individual medley, and the 1,650-yard freestyle. Brown will race in the 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard backstroke, and 200-yard butterfly. 

The three-day event is scheduled to begin on May 4th on the East Los Angeles College campus in Monterey Park, Calif. Additional event information, links to live results, team scores, and more can be found here.
