Women's Swimming: Two Individuals and Two Relay Teams Tabbed as CCCAA All-Americans

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Awards continue to roll in for the Allan Hancock College women's swimming program after a successful rebuilding season during the 2023 campaign. The women's team recently wrapped up action at the CCCAA State Championship earlier this month where they placed 18th out of 35 with just two individual competitors.

The top sixteen times across the state throughout the season, for both individuals and relay teams, received CCCAA All-America honors. Freshman phenom, Emma Marsalek, headlined the list of honorees for the Bulldogs after being ranked in three individual categories: 1,650-yard freestyle (2nd | 18:05.95), 500-yard freestyle (3rd | 5:16.88), and 400-yard individual medley (5th | 4:46.55). Jada Brown, also a freshman, was recognized in two categories after securing the 12th fastest time in both the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.86) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.00).

The women's team also saw two relay teams land on the All-America list, both ranking 15th at the conclusion of the season. The two qualifying teams were the 800-yard freestyle relay (Brown, Lizzie Hernandez, Jamilynn Allen, Marsalek) and the 400-yard medley relay (Hernandez, Julia Zimsen, Brown, Marsalek).
