Next Level: Jada Brown Heading to Fresno Pacific

FRESNO, Calif. - Allan Hancock College swimming standout, Jada Brown, has signed on to continue her academic and athletic career at Fresno Pacific University next season.

"I chose FPU because I fell in love with the type of good energy that I was personally looking for throughout the recruiting process. When I went to campus, I instantly felt welcomed and appreciated. It seemed like I was able to fit in without trying, and that is something that I personally love," Brown shared.

The product of Ernest Righetti High School made her mark as a freshman after being honored as a 3C2A All-American in both the 100-YD Butterfly and 200-YD Butterfly events, the 800-YD Freestyle Relay, and the 400-YD Individual Medley Relay. Brown finished in 9th place in both individual butterfly races last season at the state championship. She picked up two runner-up finishes at the WSC Championship this season in both fly events.

"My time at AHC definitely played a big role in this opportunity that I have to go to Fresno Pacific. AHC gave me very easy access to the resources I needed to be able to find the right classes so that I could eventually transfer out," Brown added. "They created an environment where I was able to reach out for help when I needed to and I never felt judged for doing so. I'm very grateful for that!"

The Sunbirds are a Division II member of the NCAA and compete in the PacWest Conference.
