Track & Field Opens Season at Battle of the Regions

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College track & field programs opened the 2024 season by competing in the Battle of the Regions event, hosted by Bakersfield College, on Friday afternoon. | FULL RESULTS

The women's program highlighted the day after sweeping 1st-4th place in the 3,000m Steeplechase. Maraitzel Moreno Gutierrez led the back with a top mark and was followed by Itandehui Olea, Makayla Gonzalez, and Jasmine Cruz. Kollins Pettaway and Nasim Moody were tops for the men's side after a pair of runner-up performances in the 200 meter dash and the long jump, respectively. 

The Bulldogs will continue action on Friday, February 16th, by competing in the WSC Relays at Ventura College.

• Maraitzel Moreno Gutierrez: 3,000m Steeplechase (1st); 3,000m (3rd)
• Itandehui Olea: 3,000m (2nd); 3,000m Steelpchase (2nd); 800m (3rd)
• Emily Carpenter: 400m (2nd); 200m (4th)
• Kiana San Juan: 400m (3rd)
• Makayla Gonzalez: 3,000m Steeplechase (3rd)
• Belinda Hernandez: 100m (4th)
• Jasmine Cruz: 3,000m Steeplechase (4th)
• 4x400m Relay - Carpenter, San Juan, Ismeralda Lopez, Hernandez - 4th
