Track & Field Qualify Five for SoCal at WSC Prelims Event
LANCASTER, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College track & field program had a successful showing at the Western State Conference (WSC) Prelims event, hosted by Antelope Valley College, on Friday afternoon. | FULL RESULTS
Field events and the women's 10,000k race were scored as final events with the top seven finished automatically advancing to the SoCal Prelims event in two weeks. For these events, the top three finishers earned First Team All-Conference recognition while those in 4th-6th place were Second Team All-Conference and individuals landing at 7th-9th were All-Conference Honorable Mention. The Bulldogs had five individuals secure SoCal Prelim safety at the event.
All other events on the day served as preliminary races with the top eight runners in the spring events and the top twelve finishers in distance races automatically qualifying for the WSC Finals on April 26th. The remaining field events, distance events, and relay races will also take place next week at the finals to determine SoCal Prelim advancement. Hancock saw seven athletes qualify for the WSC Finals, which will be hosted by Bakersfield College.

- Nasim Moody: Long Jump (2nd)
- Chris Sapey: Discus (6th)
- Itandehui Olea: 10k (4th)
- India Dowling-Green: Long Jump (6th)
- Eva Luu: 10k (7th)
- Maraitzel Moreno Gutierrez: 10k (9th *alternate)
WSC FINALS QUALIFIERS:
- India Dowling-Green: 100m (3rd); 200m (7th)
- Itandehui Olea: 800m (3rd); 1,500m (3rd)
- Eva Luu: 1,500m (6th)
- Emily Carpenter: 400m (6th)
- Kiana San Juan: 400m (7th)
- Maraitzel Moreno Gutierrez: 800m (7th); 1,500m (10th)
- Kollins Pettaway: 100m (5th); 200m (8th)
