Women's Volleyball Looks to Play Spoiler in Season Finale

Four sophomores will suit up one final time for the Allan Hancock College women's volleyball team on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs travel to L.A. Pierce in hopes of spoiling the host team's conference title chances.

Pierce and Santa Barbara City College are tied for first place with 10-1 records with one Western State Conference match to play. SBCC hosts 4-7 Mission College.

Hancock enters the match 2-9 in WSC play and 3-20 overall under head coach Julio Molina.

Sophomores Ambar Alehy Mendoza, Vanessa Salazar, Rhiannon Saxe and Morgan Seyfert will try to close out their Bulldog careers with victories.

Seyfert, an Orcutt Academy graduate, leads the team with 29 aces. Salazar, an outside hitter and Pioneer Valley High School graduate, ranks third on teh team with 103 kills this season.

Freshman Brianna Farley, a Cabrillo High School product, leads the team with 181 kills, while fellow freshman Gabrielle Lecates sits second with 178 kills and a team-high 54 blocks.
