AHC Athletics to Add Women's Volleyball in Fall 2024, Megan Phillips Tabbed as Next Head Coach

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College Athletics has announced the resurrection of the women's volleyball program, which will be returning for the 2024 season this fall. The program, which won back-to-back conference championships in the early 90's, last competed in the fall of 2018.

"We've seen a significant amount of student interest increase related to the sport of women's volleyball and we're thrilled to bring this opportunity to our community. The list of local athletes that have committed to joining the program in the fall is exciting," stated Athletic Director Kim Ensing. "Coach Phillips is a great addition to our coaching staff here at AHC and her expertise on the court will be an excellent resource for our athletes moving forward."

Megan Phillips will take the reigns as the next head coach for the program. The Mammoth native brings more than a decade of coaching experience and nearly a decade of teaching experience to the table. "I'm thankful for the opportunity to lead the Bulldogs in the fall as the team returned to action," Phillips stated. "My family and I relocated to the Central Coast a few months ago and we love the area. I'm excited to get the women's volleyball program reestablished here for the community."

Women's volleyball will compete as a member of the Western State Conference (North) and is set to open competition in late August. A full schedule will be announced at a later date.
