Women's Volleyball Sweeps Season Opener at CCSF Quad

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's volleyball team picked up two wins in the season opener at the City College of San Francisco Quad event. 

The Bulldogs kicked off competition by defeating the hosting Rams in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-18, and 25-13. Hancock followed that up with a four set victory over Napa Valley College with final marks of 25-20, 26-24, 20-25, and 25-14.

Against CCSF, Emma Olney led the attack with nine kills while fellow outside Marina Agueda chipped in with seven. Jocelyn Olmstead and Gifti Tefera provided a presence in the middle with .400+ hitting percentages. Freshman libero, Morgan Doss, tallied a team-best mark of 10 digs while Kaitlyn Vongvone tallied nine while adding 17 assists. As a team, the Bulldogs racked up 17 service aces with four apiece from Tefera and Shanyce Valadez. 

Hancock ended game one with a .224 mark in the hitting percentage column while limiting San Francisco to just .061. | BOX SCORE

AHC continued to roll in game two against Napa Valley, led by Agueda's 16-kill performance. Olmstead cruised in the middle with 11 finishers and five blocks, while Doss totaled 16 digs in the back row. Valadez and Vongvone paced the program with 18 and 17 helpers, respectively. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Friday, August 30th, for another two-game showing at the West Hills Challenge. They'll match up against Skyline at 2 PM before facing the hosting West Hills Lemoore squad at 4 PM.
