Women's Volleyball: Bulldogs Cruise Past WLAC, 3-0
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's volleyball team picked up a three-set sweep over West LA College at home on Wednesday evening inside of the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium. | BOX SCORE
Despite struggling to find a groove in the early rallies of the night, the Bulldogs (8-1) secured the win with final set scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-14 over the visiting Wildcats (0-6). As a team, the home crew finished the evening with a .196 hitting percentage while holding WLAC down to a .080 mark.
Jocelyn Olmstead led the way offensively with an impressive .526 finish out of the middle after registering 10 kills on 19 attempts with no errors. She and fellow middle, Gifti Tefera, also notched two solo blocks and two block assists apiece.
Shanyce Valadez paced the offense with 19 assists along with Kaitlyn Vongvone who added nine, while Morgan Doss and Emma Olney were tops for the team defensively with 11 digs each. Hancock continued to excel behind the service line with 12 aces on the day after, led by four from Valadez.
The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Friday, September 27th, for a non-conference contest at Glendale College.
