Four Bulldogs Earn All-Conference Honors
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - After a stellar revival season, the Allan Hancock College women's volleyball program saw four student-athletes earn Western State Conference (North) postseason awards.
Freshman setter Shanyce Valadez led the list of honorees as a First Team All-Conference selection, a first for the program since Isabella Albano in 2018. The Ernest Righetti High School alum led the Bulldogs with 525 assists on the year while averaging 6.56 assists per set. Valadez was also tops for the team behind the service line after racking up 67 aces and ranked third amongst teammates defensively with 165 digs
Morgan Doss secured a Second Team All-Conference nod for her work as the libero. Doss led the team with 296 digs during the season, 3.79 digs per game average, and added 22 aces. She tallied a career-high of 30 digs in the four set loss against Santa Barbara and notched seven 15+ dig matches.
Outside hitters Emma Olney and Marina Agueda rounded out the award winners with All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition. Olney led the squad with 264 kills and 295 points while Agueda was second in both categories after totaling 197 kills and 233 points. Both also provided a defensive presence at the pin with 17 and 11 total blocks, respectively.
The Bulldogs closed the season with an overall record of 13-10 while finishing tied for fourth in the league standings at 3-9. This marks the first 10+ win season for the program in nearly two decades ('05) and the first winning season for the squad since 1995.
