Hancock Cross Country Takes Third at Ventura Pirates Cross Country Invitational
Orcutt Academy freshman Sierra Skinner led the Bulldogs as the team finished in 3rd place at the Ventura Pirates Cross Country Invitational. The event took place at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura on Friday, August 30.
Skinner finished in 15th place with a time of 25:26.37. Sophomore Michele Marceleno finished with the second fastest time for the Bulldogs in 19th with a time of 26:25.45. Pioneer Valley graduate Yasmin Mendez finished in 29th with a time of 29:25.86. Right behind Rachel Mallory finished 31st with a time of 30:49.57 and Mireya Martinez finished 32nd at 31:00.66.
The Bulldogs ran for an average of 28:37.59 in the women's 5k run.
Ventura sophomore Olivia Burton won the event with a time of 21:47.11.
The Bulldogs head to Woodward Park in Ventura for the two-day Fresno Invitational. The meet takes place Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7 at 8 AM.
