Cross Country: Bulldogs Begin Season at Tour de Cuesta

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2023 campaign by competing in the Tour de Cuesta event, hosted by Cuesta College, on Friday afternoon. | COMPLETE RESULTS

The women's team secured a top finish through the shortened field of scoring teams after seeing three individuals finish in the top 10 spots. Itandehui Olea led the Bulldogs with a third place performance after clocking a final time of 20:40.8. Eva Luu (22:18.3) and Maraitzel Moreno Gutierrez (23:05.0) finished next for Hancock in 6th and 7th place, respectively. Makayla Gonzalez (12th / 24:26.4), Annais Vega (17th / 26:07.4), Melissa Marin (22nd / 32:50.7), and Rosalie Nicolas (24th / 38:11.1) rounded out the list of competitors for the women's program. 

The men's program finished in fifth place through the field of five scoring teams. Ethan Stenhouse was tops for the Bulldogs with a 21st place finish after turning in a final time of 26:31.7. Pablo Ruiz (28th / 28:30.5) and Orlando Marin (33rd / 31:17.2) finished next for Coach Youngblood's squad. Isaiah Lopez (33:38.4) and Fredy Sanchez (37:45.9) wrapped up the list of AHC racers by placing 36th and 37th, respectively. 

Next up on the schedule for the Bulldogs is a trek to Moorpark College to compete in the Moorpark Invitational on September 1st.
