Women's Cross Country Takes Second at WSC Championship
OXNARD, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's cross country team secured a runner-up slot at the Western State Conference (WSC) Championship event in Oxnard on Friday. | FULL RESULTS
The program saw three individuals earn top-10 performances through the field of 72 athletes and placed second overall out of eight scoring teams. College of the Canyons won the event while Moorpark and Glendale trailed the Bulldogs in third and fourth place, respectively. The first 14 finishers at the finals received First Team All-Conference honors, while those finishing 15-28 were Second Team All-Conference designees. Athletes finishing 29-42 picked up All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition.
Itandehui Olea led the way for the Bulldogs with a third place finish after recording a final time of 18:16.7. Araceli Medina (18:47.3) and Eva Luu (18:50.5) followed in seventh and eighth place, respectively, while Makayla Gonzalez (19:59.2) took 15th. Annais Vega, Rosalie Nicolas, and Emma Reyes also represented Hancock in the field of 72.
The women's program has advanced as a team to the SoCal Regional Championship event, which will take place on November 8th at Grigsby Field in Rancho Cucamonga.
