Bio

Since taking the helm of the department in May 2008, Ensing has overseen several facility improvements including a new track and field complex, as well as new fields for baseball, softball, soccer, and football.

Under her watch, Hancock sports programs have enjoyed tremendous success at the conference level and in the postseason. The baseball team has advanced to the playoffs four times; softball has won conference titles and advanced to the playoffs three seasons; football has won two conference championships and three bowl games; the men's basketball program has captured two conference crowns and advanced to the postseason four times, including an appearance in the State Tournament's Elite Eight in 2017-18; and the women's basketball program has also qualified for the postseason twice.

During her tenure, more than 200 student-athletes have earned scholarship opportunities to continue their athletic and academic careers at four-year institutions, including several Division I programs.

Prior to Hancock, Ensing served as the women’s basketball coach and a physical education instructor at Barstow College from 1998-2008. She also served as the interim athletic director during her final year at Barstow College.

Ensing served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at the University of Utah (NCAA Division I) from 1994 to 1997 and was a graduate assistant coach for the women’s basketball program at St. Cloud State University (NCAA Division II) in Minnesota from 1992 to 1994.

Ensing earned a Master of Science degree in athletic administration from St. Cloud State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern California College (now Vanguard University) in Costa Mesa.
