MJC Tournament (December 15-December 19th)

Allan Hancock  Game 1:

The Sacramento City Panthers open with a loss to Allan Hancock 82-66. The team had several players score double figures. The Panthers were led by sophomore F (#22) Arnie Vargas who scored 14 points,  freshman G (#6) David King 12 points, and freshman G (#11) Michael Wadsworth who scored 11 points. The Panthers shot poorly from the field (23-72 31.9%) and 29.6% from the 3 point line (8-27).

Porterville Game 2:

The Sacramento City Panthers in game 2 were able to bounce back and beat Porterville 76-70. The Panthers were led by strong performances put in by the frontcourt with Sophomore F (#55) Brandon Rowden scoring 25 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Sophomore F (#22) Arnie Vargas had 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Sophomore  F (#23) Vic Rustin scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The Panthers shot an impressive (21-25 ) 84% from the free throw line.

Contra Costa Game 3:

The Sacramento City Panthers were up 38-18 before being outscored 42-22 in second half and were defeated in overtime 74-71. The Panthers were led by freshman G (#12) Brett Lynch scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Sophomore F (#55) Brandon Rowden scored 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, sophomore F (#23) Vic Rustin scored 9 point and grabbed 7 rebounds with 4 steals. Sophomore G (#11) Marc Burns scored 7 points dished out 8 assists grabbed 4 rebounds and had 3 steals.  Freshman F (#41) Tyler Abrego scored 10 points.

The #20 Sac City Panthers (7-5) return to action after Christmas break. The Panthers will matchup against the Butte College Roadrunners (8-4) at Siskiyous Tournament at College of Siskiyous December 28th at 5 PM.
