Makayla Lord enters her second season as an assistant coach for the women's golf program in 2023. 

Lord, a well-decorated golfer from Santa Maria, spent one season competing for Florida International University in Miami before transferring to Cal State Fullerton to close out her college career. While at CSUF, Lord averaged a score of 77.6 on the course. During her time at Ernest Righetti High School, Lord was a four-time PAC 7 League MVP honoree. She also shot the course record at Rancho Maria during her senior season after shooting 31 through nine holes and competed in two USGA tournaments. 

The local product graduated from CSUF with a degree in public relations in 2015.
