Baseball Makes Second State Playoff Appearance in Two Seasons
The Allan Hancock College Bulldogs are headed back to the state playoffs for the second year in a row. The Bulldogs are seeded 13th and will take on fourth seed Chaffey College in a three-game series on May 7-8 in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
Hancock finished the regular season ranked second in the Western State Conference, with a 13-7 conference and 21-14 overall record and are currently ranked 12th in the Southern Conference. The Chaffey College Panthers finished the season at the top of the Foothill Conference with a 23-1 record and a 26-10 overall record and are ranked fifth in the Southern Conference.
“This is back-to-back years we’ve qualified for the state playoffs after a successful season,” said Hancock head coach Chris Stevens. “We’re excited to get his opportunity to play in the post season.”
The first of the three-game series is scheduled for Friday, May 7, at 2 p.m., followed by the second game at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 8.
