Baseball Still Tied with Cuesta for Second Place in Conference

   Allan Hancock College is still tied with Cuesta College for second place in the Western State Conference with one game left in the regular season.  With a 3-1 win over Moorpark College on Tuesday, April 26 the Bulldogs improved to 12-7 in conference play and 20-15 overall. Cuesta College kept pace with the Bulldogs, beating Ventura College 10-2 and bringing their record to 12-7 in conference and 21-14 overall. The second palce ranking is especially impoirtant, as the top two teams in confernence automatically advance to the post-season.

    Jordan Sechler pitched the entire game for the Bulldogs on Tuesday, earning the win. He allowed only four hits and one run in nine innings. Dylan Young scored the first run for the Bulldogs in the fourth after getting on base with a dingle. J.P. Maestas followed with another single and then Jacob Cano hit one more, earning the RBI. The Bulldogs scored again in the fifth after Chris Hernandez walked, Jimmy Nelson hit a single and they both scored after Dalton Roleau batted them in with a single.

The Bulldogs are on the road for their last regular season game against Moorpark College on Thursday, April 28 at 2:30 p.m. Cuesta takes on Ventura at home, also on Thursday April 28 at 2:30 p.m.
