Registration Under Way for Hancock Baseball Summer Clinics

The boys and girls of summer will return to the diamond at Allan Hancock College. The Bulldog baseball program will host a pair of four-day summer clinics at John Osborne Field on the Santa Maria campus. Children, ages six through 18, are invited to sharpen their hitting, fielding and pitching skills at the four-day clinics that are June 16-19 and June 23-26. Each session will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Instructors include the Allan Hancock College coaching staff, as well as former major league pitcher Bryn Smith, and Scott Nickason, head coach of the Santa Maria Valley Packers. Bulldog players will also provide instruction.

"The clinics are a chance for kids to spend their summer outside becoming better baseball players and gaining confidence in themselves," said head coach Chris Stevens. "Whether they are a returning camper or a new face, we want to continue to develop a love for the game among the youth in the community."

The cost to attend a clinic is $125 per child, and $75 for each additional family member. The fee is $200 for a child to attend both clinics.

All camp participants will receive a free T-shirt. For more information, call assistant coach Clarence Griego at (805) 922-6966, extension 3904.
