OXNARD, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College baseball team extended its win streak to seven with a sweep of Oxnard College on Saturday afternoon.

Travis Welker finished the doubleheader with a 5-for-9 showing at the plate while notching one run. He was the lone Bulldogs to notch multiple hits in both contests on the day. GAME 1: HANCOCK 1, OXNARD 0

The opening game of the day proved to be a pitchers duel as both teams struggled to get runs across the plate. The Bulldogs scored the lone run of the contest in the first inning after a sacrifice fly from Jacob Ruley plated one runner.

Vander Hodges collected the win on the bump en route to a complete game. He struck out five batters and scattered just three hits through seven innings of work.

GAME 2: HANCOCK 3, OXNARD 1

Oxnard struck first the nightcap, after an unearned run scored after an error. The Bulldogs evened the odds in the top of the 7th frame with a sacrifice fly from Jeff Ray that scored one. Hancock scored another pair of runs in the 8th inning when Welker and Kadin Byrne notched one RBI each on a pair of doubles.

Matthew Gonzales secured the win on the rubber after punching out seven and surrendering one earned run through 7.1 innings. Anthony Lopez was credited with the save after closing out the contest on the mound.
