Baseball's Gavin Long Tabbed as Round Table Athlete of the Week

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College baseball freshman, Gavin Long, was honored as the Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Round Table (NSBCART) Male Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon. | ORIGINAL RELEASE

The Ernest Righetti High School alum posted a combined total of five RBIs and a 7-fo-13 showing at the plate as the Bulldogs went 2-1 on the week. Long is currently batting .615 (16-for-26) with three doubles, three triples, and six RBIs while boasting a .962 slugging percentage through six games. He also owns a perfect fielding percentage with 14 catches on 14 chances in centerfield. 

Long and the Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action this weekend with a two-day showing at College of the Canyons. They'll open play with a neutral game against Rio Hondo College on Friday afternoon before closing the trip with a rematch against the hosting Cougars on Saturday.
