Baseball's Lucas Earle Commits to Saint Peter's University

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allan Hancock College pitcher, Lucas Earle, has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Saint Peter's University next season.

"I chose Saint Peter's University because I wanted the opportunity to play at the highest level possible. SPU is a smaller Division I school with a young coaching staff that is trying to rebuild the program that had been struggling in recent years," Earle shared. "I am excited about the idea of coming in as an older guy that has college experience and I want to try to help them get back to a winning tradition right away."

Earle, a native of Canada, is nearly finished with his sophomore campaign on the mound for the Bulldogs. He has pitched 35.0 innings and made 15 appearances on the bump thus far while working towards an earned run average of 4.89 and one win. Last year, the leftie closed out his first countable season at the college level with an ERA of 4.15 and struck out 35 batters through 34.2 innings on the mound.

"Hancock has been an amazing experience for me. I have spent three years here and it has become my home away from home," Earle added. "Coach Stevens runs our program in a way that is so disciplined and dedicated, which has shown me what it would take to have success at the junior college level. It has also given me all the right habits and work ethic that I need to have success at the NCAA level and also in my life after baseball. I will forever be grateful for my time here at Hancock."

Saint Peter's University, located in New Jersey, is a Division I member of the NCAA and competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
