BASEBALL: Nine Land on WSC All-Conference List, Four Tabbed as Gold Glove Honorees

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Nine Allan Hancock College baseball student-athletes were named to the 2023 Western State Conference (North) All-Conference list, while four were recognized as Gold Glove recipients, at the conclusion of the regular season campaign. | FULL LIST

Brayan Nunez, Elijah Pascual, and Gavin Long headlined the list of honorees after picking up First Team All-Conference recognition. 

Nunez holds the squad's highest on-base percentage (.453) and leads the way for Hancock with three home runs thus far. The Santa Maria High School grad ranks third in hits (50) and in batting average (.350). He has caught nine runners attempting to steal and has allowed just eight passed balls through 34 games behind the plate. 

Pascual sits in second on the team with a .354 batting average and is tied at the top of the list for both hits (57) and doubles (11). The Bakersfield native was also selected as a WSC Gold Glove recipient for his work at second base throughout the regular season with a .965 fielding percentage and involvement in 14 of the team's 23 double plays.

Long currently leads the Bulldogs with a .356 batting average that includes 34 RBIs on 57 hits. The Ernest Righetti High School alum has tallied 11 doubles and 10 stolen bases while also recording 108 putouts and two assists on 112 chances in centerfield. 

Keelor Loveridge, Nick Brown, and Anthony Lopez were tabbed as Second Team All-Conference selections.

Loveridge finished the regular season with a .303 batting average that included 13 RBIs on 36 hits. The native of Canada rounded out the three-way tie for the top by joining Pascual and Long with 11 doubles. 

Brown has earned 11 starts and six wins, including one complete game shutout, on the bump. He has struck out 43 batters and holds an earned run average (ERA) of 3.52 after 61.1 innings. Brown was also selected as a Gold Glove winner for the pitcher position.

Lopez currently holds a 5-0 record and has tallied three saves through 14 appearances on the mound. The Lompoc native has sat down 51 batters while working towards the best ERA amongst CCCAA baseball pitchers (1.09) with just five earned runs allowed through 41.1 frames. 

Jeremy Camarena, Niko Pecskovszky, and Cooper Bagby rounded out the list of honorees after being named as Honorable Mention selections.

Camarena closed out the regular season with a .310 batting average after totaling 22 hits on 71 at-bats. He drove in 11 runs while notching five doubles and one triple. 

Pecskovszky, also a Gold Glove designee for his work at first base, currently holds a .315 batting average after 127 at-bats. He has recorded 40 hits including seven doubles, one triple, and one homer, en route to 24 RBIs. 

Bagby earned 13 starts after appearing in 14 games throughout the regular season. He secured seven wins and one saves while completing one game on the rubber. Bagby secured 57 strikeouts and a 4.65 ERA after tossing 71.2 innings. 

Tommy Kendlinger was also named to the Gold Glove list as an outfielder with a spotless fielding percentage after 100 total chances in right field.
