Baseball's Elijah Pascual Heading to Chico State

CHICO, Calif. - Allan Hancock College second baseman, Elijah Pascual, will continue his academic and athletic career at the next level after announcing his commitment to Chico State University.

"The reason I chose Chico State is because of the amazing atmosphere," Pascual shared. "When I went on my visit, it checked all the boxes on where I want to be for the next two years."

Pascual is moving on to the next level after spending one season with the Bulldogs. The Bakersfield native was a First Team All-Conference selection and WSC Gold Glove honoree at the conclusion of his sophomore campaign. Pascual finished the season with a .365 batting average and led the way for the Bulldogs in both hits (62) and doubles (13). Before joining the AHC squad, the Frontier High School grad spent one season at Ohlone College.

"My time here prepared me for success at the next level because Coach Stevens and the rest of the coaching staff pushed me every single day. They ingrained in me that if I'm going to do something, I need to do it with 100% effort," Pascual added. "I'll be forever grateful for the people at AHC that helped me along my journey."

Chico State is a Division II member of the NCAA and competes in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
